These tiltmeter devices are used for indicating angle using a bent tube with either a ball or a bubble. In the ball type, the ball moves to the lowest point of the curve under the effect gravity. In the bubble type, the bent tube is inverted and the bubble will move to the highest point. Also known as a slope indicator, an angle gauge, a clinometer and a gradiometer, these devices are used in applications to warn an operator of the working angle of a machine for safety purposes – and correct operation of the inclinometer is critical.
