External light type Rescue-Master 12V
This light is intended for motorised survival craft and to be connected to the crafts 12V electrical system. The lamp is polarized, so when connected correctly, the lamp will flash. Incorrect connection will result in a steady light. The bulb can be replaced by unscrewing the four cap screws. Survitec acquired Madrock Marine in 2010 and are the only approved supplier for original equipment manufacturer spare parts
LIFE BOAT HOOK
An on load lifeboat hook or LRRS hook can release the lifeboat from the fall wires, with the lifeboat above the water level and with all the crew members inside the boat. The load will be still on the fall wires as the boat would not have touched the water.
In the past decade, an increasing number of serious accidents and fatalities with lifeboats has led to new requirements for vessels which carry lifeboats to ensure the safety of crew, passengers and the actual vessel. An onload lifeboat hook can release the lifeboat from the fall wires with the lifeboat above the water level and crew members inside. In response to the IMO MSC.1392 regulation requirements, Survitec designed and manufactured a hook with all the required approvals and documentation.
LIFE BOAT SEA ANCHOR
The drogue or sea anchor is a piece of equipment that we use on the Lifeboat to steady her in rough weather. It resembles a small parachute but with a hole in the end. It is deployed from the stern of the boat on the end of two very long ropes and is towed behind with the large open mouth facing the boat.
A sea anchor shall be conical in shape and have the following dimensions:-
- The sea anchor material shall be porous, slightly stiff and shall allow a water penetration of between 10 and 12 cubic centimeters per second per square centimeter at a pressure of 550Pa (roughly equivalent to a speed through water of 2knots).
- The painter line used to secure the sea anchorto a liferaft or boat shall be inherently rot proof and of braided construction and be 30 metres long: not less than 8 min.in diameter and have a breaking load including attachments and knots of not less than 5 km for liferafts up to 10 person capacity 0 km for liferaft of 11 person to 25 person capacity and 0 km for all other sea anchor or have a factory of safety of 3:1 based on atow test at 6knots whichever is the greater.
- The round lines shall be designed to restrict the sea anchor from tumbling through itself the sea anchor shall be stable when towed through the water at speeds up to 6 knots the sea anchor mouth shall open immediately on deployment.
